Aviator PPG offers foot launch powered paragliding training. We currently train over 200 students per year. We work hard to ensure that students are safe and confident in their PPG skills so they can launch, maneuver and land their paramotors skillfully without assistance or challenge. Emphasis is placed on safety from the beginning, along with fully understanding the rules, regulations, physics & complexities of the sport.
As far as your time commitment, it is important to schedule a 14 day block of time for the course. Our training syllabus uses the the USPPA PPG2 course as its foundation, but with additional elements and refinement based on over 30 years of paramotor instruction by our staff and consulting partner, Eric DuFour. Training days are packed-full with ground-handling kiting practice of various gliders, classroom work, paramotor simulator sessions, and winch tow flights to refine launch and landing technique without the complication of the motor. By day 3 or 4, dependent upon your aptitude and weather conditions, you’ll be ready for your first solo flight! Subsequent days of training include numerous flights in the mornings and evenings during which you will continue to refine the skills you need to safely and enjoyably fly on your own, as well as afternoons spent refining ground handling skills and completing the classroom syllabus.
We will refund all training payments, (except the $750 deposit), that have been paid until 28 days prior to class, at which we will refund all but the $750 deposit, and processing fees. At 7 days prior to class, the full training fee is non-refundable.*Please note, the $750 deposit is NON refundable at any time.
We understand things come up. You can reschedule your training up to 30 days prior to your original training date.
Due to manufacturer guidelines and in order to provide a safe training experience, Aviator Paramotor schools operate under these guidelines regarding weight.
Our established safe training limit is 250lbs.
We require all students to be under/at 250lbs.
We uphold this policy in the following ways:
1. At 30 days, students 225 Lbs and over will be notified to provide confirmation that the standard has been met.
2. At the start of each session, our students weigh in.
*Failure to meet the weight requirements will result in dismissal of the student from the training session. As per our refund policy, without refund.
Our training includes many in-depth courses to learn the ins and outs of powered paraglider flying, maintenance, and ownership. We pride ourselves on having an extremely in-depth, industry leading syllabus! You will be taught the fundamentals of weather, glider design, airspace, federal regulations, motor maintenance, and many tricks of the trade that would take years to learn on your own.
We are one of only a few full service schools in the U.S. to offer FREE rental for ALL our state-of-the-art equipment (motors, wings, helmets, radios, water floatation, etc). We don't want you to feel pressured to buy equipment without knowing exactly what it is you want, from an educated, experience based perspective, rather than one solely based on marketing. Other schools charge an average of $2,000 just for rentals. We won't.
In order to offer a premium training experience, we have scheduled classes each month of the year at both of our training locations. Beautiful Florida weather allows us to train year-round!
Our program is tailored to each student's aptitude, but always conducted in groups, as learning with others not only makes the course a heck of a lot more fun, but also maximizes the learning opportunities for each member of the class. Course slots are limited so as there is at least one instructor to every two students.
*Class location is noted on each date listed
